The Oregon Tea Party is proud to announce the return of the Tax Day TEA Party! Carrying on the tradition of activism that brought thousands of concerned patriots together in the sixth largest Tea Party Rally in the United States in 2009, Oregon Tea Party will join Americans across the nation in rising up to remind the politicians in Washington, DC and Salem that they work for us, not the other way around.
The theme for 2011 is “Reclaiming Liberty”. OTP Chairman John Kuzmanich said, “This year’s rally is a can’t miss event bringing citizens and grassroots leaders together in a show of force and unity to celebrate our accomplishments. This gathering will propel us forward, embracing the very best of American foundational principles to guide our future.” Rally organizers will use this event to show that the movement is growing, while letting people know what they can do to help “RECLAIM our LIBERTY”.
Kristina Ribali of Freedomworks said, “We must continue to stand up against the growth of Government, oppressive taxation, the unsustainable spending at all levels of government, and the crippling debt foisted on our children.”
This year’s event will include a dynamic mix of live entertainment, music and speakers. The event will feature music from nationally recognized singer/songwriter Brian Futch and the local Patriotic group, We the Band. Scheduled speakers include Oregon Association of Broadcasters Best On-Air Radio Personality and Tea Party favorite Victoria Taft, former U.S. Congressional Candidate and Oregon Tea Party Chairman John Kuzmanich, Kristina Ribali of Freedom Works, Matt Evans from Americans for Prosperity, and Tea Party Organizer and Multnomah County GOP chairman Jeff Reynolds. Also, just confirmed is special guest and standup comedian Stephen Kruiser of www.pjtv.com. Kruiser hosts the nationally syndicated show, Kruiser Control. Additionally, Pajamas TV will stream this event live nationally on its website.
“This Movement represents the very heart and soul of what it means to be American”, said Kuzmanich. “Constitutionally limited government, fiscal and personal responsibility, and individual economic liberty are what we are about. These three principles drive American Exceptionalism.”
The American Tea Party Movement has changed the political landscape forever, making it the most powerful political Movement in modern American history, and We The People have only just begun! All are invited to join us this April 15th – together we will make history!
